As an anionic water-soluble cellulose ether derived from natural cellulose via chemical modification, Landoil Brand CMC boasts excellent water solubility, adhesion, and chemical stability. It performs reliably within pH 6-9 and 20-40℃, unaffected by slight fluctuations in temperature or pH. Its aqueous solution offers multiple functions including thickening, film-forming, bonding, moisture retention, colloid protection, emulsification, and suspension. Being non-toxic and eco-friendly, it meets national environmental standards, effectively reducing VOC content in coatings.
Core Functions in Coatings
1.Thickening & Rheology Control: Adjusts coating viscosity flexibly to suit brushing, spraying, rolling, etc., minimizing drippage, improving work efficiency, and ensuring a smooth, even finish free from brush marks or orange peel.
2.Stabilization & Anti-settling: Forms a stable network structure to prevent pigment/filler settling, stratification, or caking, extending shelf life and maintaining quality during storage and transportation.
3.Film-forming Enhancement: Optimizes molecular arrangement in films, boosting density, smoothness, wear resistance, aging resistance, and water resistance. Improves adhesion to substrates and regulates drying speed to reduce defects like peeling or blistering.
4.Dispersion & Emulsification: Breaks pigment/filler agglomeration, promoting uniform dispersion to avoid color differences and surface particles, enhancing coating texture and overall quality.
Application Tips
1.Dosage: 0.1%-0.3% (latex coatings), 0.3%-0.5% (industrial coatings), 0.5%-1.0% (putties).
2.Compatibility: Avoid strong cationic additives; adjust pH to 6-9.
3.Selection: Low-medium MW (50,000-100,000) for inner walls; high MW (100,000-200,000) for exteriors/anti-corrosion.
